Samsung Galaxy Note 20, still worth it 2023

The Samsung Galaxy Note20, is one of Samsung's flagship line released on August 2020 and one of the distinct feature of this phone is the S-Pen. In 2023 the Note20 is a solid bet if you are considering a premium built phone as your daily runner.

It spots great specs such as a larger Super AMOLED Plus display at 6.7 inch diagonal, great triple camera with ois (Optical image stabilization), a large battery to last you a full day under normal use and rocks powerful processors that can handle any modern mobile game or task.

The highlights

Large 6.7 Super AMOLED Plus display- great for consuming media, mobile games and productivity.

S-Pen-can be used for sketching, notes and so on

Large storage and ram-Default storage and ram is 256GB and 8GB, this is plenty of space and ram on a handheld for media, games and productivity, 8GBof ram enables more tasks to run in background.

Large battery and fast charging- At 4300mah you can leave without worry of battery drain before sun down.

Software and Security- Android 13 update confirmed for this phone, that means you will not be left behind on latest features and security that come with latest software update.

Ultra sonic Fingerprint sensor- Fast responses no compromise with behind phone sensors an secure.

The Cons

Large- For those with small hands using this phones may require two hands.

No 3.5mm jack and External storage- although wireless headsets are gaining ground the batteries drain quickly.

Compared to the 2019 Samsung galaxy s10 Samsung made some upgrades, by increasing the display size to 6.7 inch from the previous 6.3 inch on the note 10 and an updated processor chip in both global and US market that is Exynos and Snapdragon. The Note 20 also has a significantly larger battery as mentioned earlier when you compare it with the  Note 10 3500mah capacity, additionally the camera lens for specifically the telephoto is bumped up to 64MP on the note 20 which results in higher variability when i comes to zooming on objects of interest.

In terms of storage there is no comparative advantage since both phones are shipped with a base 256GB rom with both adapting the UFS 3.0 technology. As of 2021 Samsung did away with the note naming system replacing it with the Ultra branding , and as such in 2021 the successor to the Note 20 is the S21 Ultra. Samsung has generally maintained the general outlook of its mobile phone, and there is really not much that can be said about that. The daily functionality on the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 is great media consumption is smooth and this phone being almost three years old the prices are friendly especially on the preowned phone market.

Bottom-line this is a great phone to have, the design does not look outdated at all does not feel sluggish under use whether its normal productivity or gaming and with the drop in price since its initial release at around USD 300 to 600 on ebay or Amazon, prices in the Kenyan Market are about ksh 79000 ($600) brand new and about ksh 45000 ($345) pre-owned this is a good deal in 2023.
